Ministry Mission Statement

The goal of KR Ministries is to serve God through innovation, evangelism, teaching and       church planting. We honor God by leading people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ; to discover their purpose; help them develop Christ-like maturity; equip them for their ministry in the church and their life mission in the world.

KR Ministries sponsors Whiteford Ministries, Celebrate Recovery, Connections For Life and other community service programs. Our combined healing, helping and evangelistic outreach serves hundreds in Lexington.

Russ Thompson, Senior Pastor

Pastor Russ has committed his life to serving and helping every person, regardless of background and economic status, to achieve their fullest potential.  Prior to becoming Pastor, he served as Administrator, Executive Assistant and Associate to Dr. E. Wayne Wall, D.Th; D.Div. for seventeen years. Russ was blessed to receive training and mentorship from Dr. Wall.

As Senior Pastor and Chief Administrative Officer of Whiteford Church, Russ oversees all operations of the various Whiteford ministries. His relevant messages offer a fresh approach to the timeless truths of the Bible. Pastor Russ lovingly ministers to each member through hospital and home visitation and counseling. He has made a life commitment to serving and helping every person regardless of background and economic status, to achieve their fullest potential and discover God's purpose for their life.

Russ has been recognized nationally for leadership, management and marketing skills. Along with his many awards, he has recently had a book of some of his early sermons published which is available at the Whiteford Book Store.

Kathy Thompson, Co-Pastor and Children's Pastor

Pastor Kathy has always had a passion and energy for Christ that is contagious. Her passion for teaching adults the prophetic word of God and teaching children how to live a fuller, more productive life is evidenced by the many ministries in which she actively participates.  Kathy, like her father, Dr. E. Wayne Wall, is a theological teacher and credits her scholarship to her father. Kathy is currently working on her Master of Divinity.

Pastor Kathy teaches Biblical principals and reports unfolding prophetic events in adult small group "Sunday Connections" and with the children Sundays and Wednesdays. She also shares preaching duties with Pastor Russ.  Her God given talents never cease to amaze members, associates and family.

Kathy serves as Executive Director of the Whiteford School of the Arts. She not only manages the school, but writes the entire curriculum including choreography. Kathy’s abilities extend to being able to teach and/or assist our professional instructors in every class. Her business background enables her to contribute to the overall administration of Whiteford Church and Schools.

Kathy is currently authoring a book along with Russ.  Watch for its future release.
